Sample 10 Day Southern Ghana Tour

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel. Orientation and dinner with cultural performance.

Day 2: Tour of Accra, capital city of Ghana. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Du Bois Center, National Museum and Arts Center for shopping. Visit also Art galleries and the University of Ghana.

Days 3 & 4: Volta Region – Visit Hohoe, the second city of this region of diversity and see the Wli waterfalls, situated in the heart of a rainforest; the highest and most picturesque in West Africa. Also visit Kpetoe, where you will see the famous kente cloth being woven in traditional looms. Overnight stay.

Drive to Ada and cruise to Azizanya, the estuary where the Volta river joins the Atlantic ocean. Water sports and relaxation. Continue to Villa Cisneros at Sogakope, a modern resort in a rural setting on the banks of the Volta.

Day 5 & 6: Cultural Tour
Visit Ashanti kingdom of gold. Among others, tour the Manhyia Palace, residence of Asantehene, King of Ashanti and the museum. Tour also famous Ashanti crafts villages of Bonwire for Kente weaving, Ntonso for adinkra print cloth and Ahwiaa where wood carvings and fertility dolls are made. Visit also the Kumasi central market, the largest open air market in West Africa.

Day 7 & 8: Historic/Nature tour
Central Region – You will stay in a seaside resort. Visit the historic slave castles of Cape Coast and Elmina. Tour the auction halls, the dungeons and the museum where relics of the inhuman trade are preserved. Also tour the Kakum National Park and try the canopy walk, a suspended walkway connecting the trunks of giant rainforest trees.
Day 9 /10: Return to Accra – Free time for relaxation before d
