Karen Blixen is a famous Danish writer, who in 1914 moved with her husband to Kenya to manage a coffee plantation. Her book “Out of Africa” (1937) was later turned into an Oscar winning film by the same name in 1985). At Karen Blixen's Coffee Garden there is a lovely outdoor cafe. It had tables; each decorated with a single rose, arranged around a beautiful garden. We had a very late lunch and the food was just wonderful! The tutor-style cottage is where Karen Blixen livesd. This cottage, with its farm-like flavor yet Africa theme was originally built in 1914 and is still a lovely place to stay.
