Maasai Mara remains one of Kenya’s best-loved
reserves encompassing 1039 square miles of wide savannas, rolling
hills and riverine forest. There are huge grazing herds, bountiful
bird life and Africa’s largest population of lions. In fact,
each year the Mara is the staging ground for what is know as “The
Great Migration,” one of the most awe-inspiring natural events
in the world.
Driving through the vast and very scenic Mara wilderness
to the Ilkeliani Camp, one may feel like you’re on a National
Geographic Safari as you may spot abundant of giraffes, buffaloes,
wildebeest, hartebeest, impalas, zebras, gazelles, leopards and
many other animals, especially lions.
This camp is located in the northeastern border of
the Mara, in a riverine forest. It easily blends into the abundant
